Outdated Authenticity is an interactive web experience
exploring the relationship between memory, time, and
digital preservation. Inspired by the interface of an older
Mac desktop, the project organizes photographs into
folders dating from 2004 to 2020. The images appear
blurred and become inaccessible when clicked,
reflecting how memories can fade even when their
digital records remain.
The minimal interface encourages users to focus on
exploring the archived files, while familiar desktop
elements and error messages create a contrast
between the permanence of digital storage and
the fragility of memory. The website was developed
with AI assistance through Runable, with the concept,
visual direction, and interactions directed by me.
